CD制作にあたって / About the production of this CD：

1877年に創立された立教女学院は、現在までの長い歴史にいつもオルガンが共にあった。1923年の関東大震災後、現在の久我山に移転し、1932年に完成した聖マーガレット礼拝堂にもオースチン社製のオルガン（電気アクション、２段鍵盤、13個ストップ）が備えられ、以来、戦争中の困難も乗り越え、聖マーガレット礼拝堂でのオルガンを中心とした豊かな礼拝音楽が日本の教会音楽に少なからず影響を与えてきた。1990年代始めオースチン・オルガンの老朽化に伴い、新しいオルガンの設置が決定され、1998年６月、テイラー・アンド・ブーディー社、Opus.30が完成し立教女学院のオルガンの歴史に新たなページが加わることになった。設置後７年を経てオルガンの音色も整い、待ち望まれた最初のアルバムである。

Founded in 1877, an important part of the long history of St. Margaret's School has always been the organ. After the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, the school moved to its present location in Kugayama. Its chapel, completed in 1932, included an organ manufactured by Austin Organs Inc. (electric action, 2 manuals, 13 stops). Beyond the trying times of World War II, the rich worship music centered around the organ has had an influence on the world of sacred music in Japan. The Austin organ began deteriorate in the beginning of the 1990's.
The decision was made to purchase a new organ, and in June of 1998, Opus 30 by Taylor and Boody Organbuilders was completed, marking a new era in the history of organs at St.Margaret's. This recording captures its sound after it matured for seven years, and is the first record made on the organ.
