CD制作にあたって / About the production of this CD：
ボストンの市中、賑やかなケンブリッジ通りに面してどっしりとしたレンガ造りのオールドウエスト教会は建っている。1974年、この教会で出会ったC. B.フィスク・オルガンはそれまで私が日本で弾いていたどのオルガンとも違っていた。豊かな表現力と芳醇な響き。このオルガンで勉強した日々は現在の私の原点となった。
2006年5月、リサイタルの機会を与えられその際にCDの制作を思い立った。
内容は馴染み深いオルガンの作品とともに日本人作曲家による作品も収録した。
CD制作にあたって再びこの思い出深いオルガンとじっくり向き合えたことを感謝したい。このアルバムを敬愛するオルガニストであり師である林佑子氏に捧げる。
The dignified brick building on a lively corner Cambridge Street in Boston is Old West Church. My first encounter with the C.B. Fisk organ in this church was 1974. It was totally unique from any organ I had played in Japan: rich in expressiveness and sonority. The days I spent studying on this instrument became my roots as an organist.
In May of 2006, I was given the opportunity to give a recital on this organ, and I thought of making this CD. It contains classic numbers from the organ repertoire, as well as lesser known pieces by Japanese composers. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to spend some quality time with this organ again. I dedicate this CD to organist Yuko Hayashi, my teacher to whom I hold the highest respects.
